How to Crafts & More

Who doesn’t like to eat out? Either we don’t have time to cook or we just need a break from cooking.

Americans spend more than $555 billion dollars a year on food away from home.

Here are some tips on saving money when eating out.

  1. Cut back just a little. Make going out to eat a treat. After all you deserve a treat after saving all that money on cooking at home.
  2. Share an entrée. With portion sizes having increased considerably over the last decade, the amount of food set in front of us is way more that a portion size should be. We wanted our money’s worth and we got it and now it’s too much on our plate. That’s ok though because you can take advantage of this super sized portions by sharing an entree! There’s plenty for two, maybe even three! And think of the calories your saving!
  3. Drink water. It’s free! Those sodas are not only bad for you, a calorie counter but expensive! If you don’t like the taste of water much, ask for a lemon or lime to add to your water. It’s very refreshing.
  4. Use coupons. Every little bit helps.
  5. Kids eat free. Many resturaunts offer ‘Kids eat free’ days. Check with your local resturaunt and find out which days.
  6. Eat during off peak hours. For example eat at lunch time instead of the evening meal. The lunch menu is a lot cheaper than the dinner menu. And you’ll be able to burn off any extra calories through out the rest of your day.
  7. Skip desert. If you must have a sweet after your meal, wait till you get home and keep some ice cream or some sweet handy.  Happy Dinning:)
